Burrard St Bridge
It was sunny, without a cloud in the sky. I thought it would be a perfect day to draw. So I went out. So naive.
It was so pleasant for the first half hour, that I just walked around, looking for better views. When I finally sat down to draw, I decided I would draw the railing against the sea-wall, the bridge, the boats docked in front of me, and also the construction crew working atop the roof of an apartment building to my right. It would be a two page spread, maybe designed like a comic book page. I had plans, clearly, but so did the weather gods.
I was only halfway through this drawing when the wind picked up. It blew harder and harder, cold as ice coming off the waters, and my hands began to freeze.
Overheard, a bird
Flaps wings against gusty winds
Heads bowed, we go on#haiku #sneakyart
With half the bridge done, I knew I could not go on. I got a picture, and walked back home. I’ll do the comic book spread of the sea-wall soon one of these days. There are a lot of stories there.
