Volleyball in the Park
This one’s an under five minute sketch. I didn’t think about it. I didn’t think about it at all. It was perfect and ready to draw. The whole composition laid itself out in front of me, with an easy starting point and end point, action in the middle, some figures but not too many, and just a simple foreground without the hassle of middle or background.
Easy peasy.
I started from the weights on the left holding down one end of the volleyball net, bags and jackets I assume. I pulled the long horizontal lines to the other end, dropped down to the pile on the other side. Then I went left to right again with the different people. I couldn’t see them very well, so there was not so much detail to put in. I went with what I could tell clearly. That’s who they were for me. Once that was done, I pulled some shadows. And finish.
What do you think?
