Tiny People over a Chicago weekend
In the freezing cold, in the cruel winds, dodging pellets of rain and snow and ice, we came to Chicago city.
A Corner Bakery in the Loop. We walked down the Magnificent Mile, taking it all in. All of the skyscrapers, again. All of the wide sidewalks, again. The beautiful river, even in the winter.
We walked around the Millenium Park before circling around as the sun set and the winds picked up. Cafes are a place of refuge in the cold, and corner-spots are excellent locations for Sneaky Art.
It had to be done.
We resumed walking after coffee gave us the courage to face the cold again. But it was short-lived. We didn’t even make it to the river. A warm bar beckoned through tall windows and elaborate curtains. They totally got us.
The next morning I conducted a fun art session at Camp Boundless, an adults only hobbies camp in downtown Chicago’s Catalyst Ranch (more on that amazing experience later). Afterwards, we walked down Michigan Ave again. This time to the Shops on North Bridge, because I am told it is fun to look through windows at things one does not intend to buy.
I passed my time buying a coffee with wholesome intent and making some Sneaky Art. No complaints. :)
Anyway, I drew a lot of beautiful people in this beautiful city over a total of 3 hours - at 3 locations over 2 days. I didn’t bother to count how many people I drew in all. But I do know that none of them saw me. Sneaky sneaky!
Can you count how many people? :P
