Live Drawing at 200 Main

On Friday, June 28th, I did a live-drawing event at 200 Main Arts & Wine, run by dear friends Jo Ellen Burke and Terry Meyers. We had 10-15 people show up to watch me draw, sip wine and talk all things SneakyArt. A lovely experience!

Me, all smiles at the end!

Me, all smiles at the end!

I had so many conversations with so many interesting people, some are now mingling with others in my head. I learned about a lot of new things, all of which are mingling with the things I know before to make beautiful cocktails of ideas and inspirations.

Meeting people is an incredibly interesting time inside my mind. This is a good thing, to me at least.

I started off, drawing my view

Ink and watercolors. Wrongly dated, which happens often.

People were curious about my style of drawing, which I was able to demonstrate for them. I often combine watercolors with my ink work, because it adds a layer of unpredictability on what is otherwise a tightly controlled drawing.

Also on display were my typical art tools. I talked about how I balance artistic needs with portability and sneakiness. You can’t carry all the good things you want to use on a SneakyArt mission, so I have to alternate between exciting new pens and the ones I trust.

Nearly all the people who came down!

I was also able to sign some books for attendees and draw (unsneaky) portraits which is always fun.

Time flies by for me, especially when I’m drawing!
